Madrid Day 2: Getting The Royal Bull!
Day 2 of my visit to Madrid consisted of visiting the Royal Palace used by the King and Queen of Spain from 1764 to 1931. With over 2,800 rooms inside, the current King of Spain, Juan Carlos and his Queen decided that this was just a tad goshe and moved to a smaller, more intimate palace near Segovia. Madrid is quickly becoming the the land of no photos as just this week, the Royal Palace (it changes daily apparently) went photo free. Sigh....
!
Our next stop was at the Royal Tapestry factory where all of the amazing tapestries that we saw inside the Royal Palace are made. The amount of painstaking attention to detail and craftsmanship that goes into just one tapestry is amazing! With only about 60 employees, this factory has seen the likes of Goya and the most elite of Spain walk through its doors to commission their very own work. Here we see AmbassAdonis and AmbassaGarnett recording their spot for the Royal Tapestry Factory recap. No photos yet of AmbassaBeta getting his interview on as I had my camera in my pocket.

Here we come, walking down the street...we get the funniest looks...give us some Sangria!
!
Toro!!!! We ended the day by taking in a bullfight. It was only 9 Euros and well, when in Spain...
!
Going inside the Plaza de Toros was something like experiencing what it must have felt like to watch lions eat Christians back in the Roman times. Shoulder to shoulder with the locals, beer, wine and cigarellos being consumed like oxygen (oh Jesus what I would have given for some fresh air), being "of the people" was certainly an interesting if not educational experience.

Let's just say, this does not have a happy ending...every time....three or four times per match. Bugs Bunny owes me for that crap he used to feed me on Saturday mornings!
!
Suffice it to say, I have it all on video and photo but I'll spare you the details and just give you Jasmine and Marika's faces. Oh well, if it weren't for my appreciation for the cultural heritage of it all, I'd write a letter to the King. Which would have been easy as he was three rows down from where we were sitting. Sadly there was no toilet paper to be found in the men's room.
