It's a rare instance when two things that go together so well also fall into my list of "Favorites." Just this week I stumbled upon one such fantastic combination that is one part Heaven/one part Rock n' Roll.

While thumbing through the iPorn (as I call the internet), I found an interview with Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley. I don't even need to tell you how much I love Rilo Kiley. Not only are they are on my favorite label, Saddle Creek, but they also kick ass. Anyway, it turns out that before alt. country, Jenny played alt. child actress in such Television series and films as "Growing Pains," "Mr. Belvedere" and "Troop Beverly Hills." What really placed her at the top of my pedestal was the mention of an appearance on my favorite show "The Golden Girls." Yes, I LOVE THE GOLDEN GIRLS. Get over it. Let's move on.

When asked if she had any dirt on Bea Arthur, she could barely conjure up the memory of being on the show but she does remember kissing Ben Seaver...ewww. Even though she doesn't remember much about her stint on "The Golden Girls," she at least got to walk across the linoleum of 5161 Richmond Street, Miami Beach, Florida. Add being in one of the coolest bands on one of the coolest labels ever and you have one righteous babe!

In case you were wondering about the episode, she played "Daisy" in episode: "Old Friends" (episode # 3.1) 19 September 1987. The one where Blanche accidentally gives away Rose's teddy bear at a garage sale and young Jenny takes it but won't give it back unless Rose coughs up a hefty ransom. Rebel!!! Also, check out the cool Jenny Lewis bag that I stumbled upon whilst searching for Ms. Lewis. It comes from a really hip crafting site called Craftster (of course). I'm a fan of the man-purse so I thought I'd put it up here.
