Good Eatin!

If you weren't in Ozark overload yet, I'm force-feeding you more! One of the hightlights of my trip was embracing the time honored tradition of gorging myself on some down home cooking. I am sure that I stood out like Paul Reubens at church picnic, but I proudly whipped out my trusty camera anytime I encountered one of these gastranomical glorys. Below is just an excerpt:
!

My first night back home!
My mom is an incredible cook and boy have I missed her viddles (okay, I promise the regional dialect will stop). For my first "requested" meal, we had (as pictured): Fried chicken, green beans, biscuits, mashed potatoes, gravy and home grown sliced tomatoes.

My mom's "black bottom" cupcakes. Chocolate cake, creme cheese and chocolate chips!

Home grown tomatoes growing along our fence line.

The best of the crop. Except for maybe that one.

Cherry Danish y'all!!!

Buffalo Chicken Wing pizza from the local pizzaria in Gravette.

Silver Dollar City's skillet potatoes with white and sweet potatoes, peppers, onions and corn.

My heaping helping. Sweet tea in the glass of course.

Fried Pickles at Silver Dollar City.

This sounded too fucking good to be true. If you are unfamiliar with a Cherry Mash, you are due. I say no thank you to the sugar free version, but I just had to stop in.

I was a little underwhelmed. Take a Cherry Mash, some ice cream, milk and stir, you'd get better results. But they get an A+ for one hell of an idea anyway.

Famous Daves not-so-famous 'cause "I've never heard of it" but still excellent BBQ

Random: Jalapeno popcorn

During my visit I was invited to a special by-invitation-only tea party.

Some food experiences on this trip were better than others.
