Bang Music Festival 2006
This weekend MikeB, K-LIV, Betamike and Gashapon loaded up in an environmentaly-friendly hybrid and mecca lecca trekka'd down to sunny Miami for some sun, fun and of course, French robots!

Face to Face
The gang: MikeB, K-LIV, Beta (on a stick) and Gashapon about to leave Orlando behind in Kelly's "Aerodynamic" Prius for "Faster, Better, Harder, Stronger" music "One More Time"

What happens in Miami...eventually gets posted on the internet!

We couldn't help shake the feeling that we were in Indio, California about to head out to Coachella. Obviously the fact that our group was incomplete kept everything in perspective. This trip was amazing from the get-go but without Stephanie, Christy, Devan and Kristen, it just didn't have that Ow ow ow! That and the fact that there were no gorgeous mountains or freaky windmills.

!
Bienvenido a Miami!
Caucasian rugs are hot in Miami
!
!
Bang Banner. Downtown Miami
Me thinks that the Bang people underestimate the power of the robots. Second billing...after Tiesto?
!
!
My ticket was HUGE in Miami!
!!
Galaxy Girl.
Let's see, how can I describe Galaxy Girl? Spencer's Gifts: the Musical. Techno fairy skank. A whispy sandalwood-scented panty partaaaaaay!
!
!
Ambient flag twirling
!!
About as trashy and ridiculous as you think it was.
!!
The Rave Gimp
Proof that ecstasy can give you nightmares during daylight hours. I think that Galaxy Girl just about has all the bases covered here. Get your freak on!

!
A bang baby!

The afterglow of Galaxy girl!

!
Gyro ho!
What's not to like: A cross between Paris Hilton and Dolly Parton...cat meat. Only $7!!!

Bicentennial Park in beautiful downtown Miami
!

A raver catching a midday nap. Or just left there from the night before, your guess.
!
!
South Beach. From here you can almost see Blanche, Dorothy, Sophia and Rose's house! The perfect backdrop for a rave.
!
!
Party boaters catching some good music and probably not a lot of fish.
!
!
Hell yes!!!!!
!!
Beta and Gashapon beginning their 5 hour wait at the front of the Daft Punk stage. Notice the thinly veiled pyramid behind us. Awwww yeah!
!!
Roughly hour #3. Bring on the fucking robots!!!
!
!
Rooooooooobot.....
Finally! 5 hours, 4 DJ's and multiple glow stick bruises but well worth the wait!
!!!
.....Huuuuuuuuuuman

Kelly and I "heart" robots!

The pyramid comes alive. A girl blowing bubbles.

!
A tomato? A robot.
!
!
Eye see you!
!
!
The robots giving the horns to a very responsive crowd...a very emotional Thomas and Guy showing the love to their fans. This was the last show of their (quite possibly) last world tour.
!
There was a whole lot more to this trip than just Daft Punk (really!) like exploding lights and missing calamari but they were certainly the highlight of the trip. I have more photos of the weekend on my Flickr set below. Please enjoy.
